Thank you so much to every person in 2019 who has signed up to a course with us; attended a workshop; purchased our educational resources; commissioned us for careers work; let us post photos of you; told your friends/families/colleagues about us; liked, shared or commented on our posts; or generally just supported us throughout the year. We appreciate every single thing that our learners, friends and families do to support us!
2019 was a fantastic year for SKL Training! In January, Amanda Harriott joined the business. From my point of view, that’s when everything changed (for the better!). This time in 2018, we were offering the level 3 Award in Education and Training in classroom and distance learning format; the level 4 Certificate in Education and Training, some Skills for Living and Work, some ad-hoc schools work and ad-hoc careers support.

I think that list alone shows the impact Amanda has made on SKL Training in just a year. Without Amanda’s logical, intelligent approach and no-nonsense thinking, we would not be where we are now and continuing to grow as specialists in education and training; and – now – as a business.

In March 2019, we became a Limited company, making both of us Directors of SKL Training Limited.

In April 2019, we achieved direct claim status from Open College Network, our awarding body. This means that they trust our quality assurance processes so we can apply for certificates for our students as soon as they finish their courses with us. From our students’ points of view, this means no waiting around: within a few days, they have their certificates in their hands!

We’ve worked all over the country with individuals as well as companies such as EON, Gloucestershire Enterprise Ltd, St Basils, One Housing, SKF Ltd and schools such as Lubavich School in London and, more locally, the Bridge school and Ridgeway Academy.

We are so excited about 2020! We’ve got some brilliant courses and workshops coming up and would love to see you there. Here’s the new stuff:

• Level 2 Award in Business Enterprise – qualification
Managing stress in the workplace – 1 day workshop
Conflict management – half day workshop
• Level 2 Certificate in Creative Studies – distance learning or classroom options
• Course writing and delivery workshops

Not everything is available immediately, so if you like the sound of any of those, please contact Amanda to register your interest and she will make sure you are the first to know when they are available and how you can book. We’re now offering these because people have asked for them, so if there’s something you want to study, speak to us! If we can’t deliver it, we’ll put you in touch with someone who does.

We offer payment plans on most courses and always try to be flexible to suit your situation. Please remember that courses only run when people book on to them, so if you do want to attend a course listed on our course dates page, please book as soon as possible! We only book venues when we know how many people are attending: this helps us to keep fees affordable.

Here’s our 2019 at a glance:

7 Creative Writing sessions
