Level 2 Award in Business Enterprise

Accredited through AIM Qualifications

This interactive programme will help you to assess your suitability to start up and run a successful business enterprise. You can complete this as an accredited or a non-accredited course (more on this later). You can study in the classroom or via distance learning.

Who is it for?

If you're considering self-employment or have a business idea, this is the course for you. You don't need to have any previous skills or experience to do this course: it's ideal for beginners to Business Enterprise.

What will I learn?

By the end of the course, you'll know about self employment and what is required. You'll know more about the skills, knowledge and abilities you need to run your own enterprise and be aware of the risks involved in setting up and running a business. There will be lots of time to discuss your ideas and you'll identify any gaps in your own knowledge, preparing a personalised plan to fill those gaps. We'll also give you some useful templates such as a basic bookkeeping spreadsheet and a business plan template.

How much time will it take?

The classroom sessions run for two full days, then, if you've chosen the accredited option, you'll have some coursework to complete, which will be bespoke to your business idea. You can take as long as you like if you choose the distance learning option.

How much will it cost?

Distance learning non-accredited: £120
Distance learning accredited: £175
Classroom non-accredited: £295
Classroom accredited: £399

Who is my tutor?

It’s Sarah Harris. Sarah worked at as a senior manager in a charity for nine years, qualified with the Diploma To Teach In The Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) in 2011 and has been writing and delivering training for a variety of delegates for over ten years. She has worked in a mainstream school, has lots of experience in Alternative Education and now runs SKL Training with her business partner Amanda Harriott, which Sarah and Amanda set up from a simple business idea in 2017.

What do you mean by 'accredited' and 'non-accredited'?

We are offering this course in two ways:

Accredited - You'll work towards a qualification which is accredited through AIM Qualifications. Once you have completed your coursework (after the course), you'll receive a certificate to show you have achieved your qualification, which is the Level 2 Award in Business Enterprise.

OR

Non-accredited - The content of the course is the same but you won't achieve a qualification. This option is slightly cheaper but the support you receive will be the same. You won't need to complete coursework at home unless you want to.

Both options are available in the classroom and via distance learning.
